Responding to diagnosis with hope and resources
Responding to diagnosis with hope and resources
At Tell Me About Autism, we believe that everyone has the ability to lead a happy and fulfilling life. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that hope is a crucial part of the autism journey and one that can get lost when a family receives that initial diagnosis.
We offer anecdotal information and resources to families of autistic children to aid them in their journey whether your diagnosis is brand new or your family has been living with the diagnosis for years. We provide a safe place to discuss all aspects of your diagnosis and offer resources to aid your journey.
Our initiative is to give families a perspective of one autism journey and to share resources that they may not be aware of to aid in their perspective on diagnosis. We are not counselors or behavioral therapists. Rather, we are a safe place to discuss your diagnosis, your experience, and ideas for the future. This is provided at no cost to families.
Caleb Pucylowski is a high school student dedicated to easing the struggle that families face when they first receive their autism diagnosis. As a child, Caleb was diagnosed with autism and given a grim prognosis for the future. Today, he finds himself finishing quantum computing courses at MIT as a high school senior poised to graduate with this Associate of Arts degree the same year he graduates high school. He is active volunteering in his community and with his First Robotics Team, Cybersecurity Team, and MATLAB Club at Florida Institute of Technology. Once nonverbal, he is now indistinguishable from his peers other than the areas where he excels, an outcome no doctor gave him hope for when he was diagnosed. He hopes to share his story as an anecdote of one possible outcome of a diagnosis, share his experience and resources with families. He aims to help others respond to their diagnosis with hope and resources.
